Jodi Jones – Free Agent

We know Jodi Jones all too well; he’s the player that tore us apart whilst on Coventry City’s books in 2017/18. He looked to have the world at his feet before doing his ACL, not once, but on three separate occasions. He’s only played 17 times since that injury, a week after he celebrated a super goal at the Bank in front of our fans, and yet he’s still only 24.

I know, we sign crocks, I get that misconception, but I think there’s a risk worth taking here. Jones was a fast, tricky player, the sort you watch with envy as they tear you apart. Very few players have the effect on me he did that day (Ilias Chair, Taylor Richards and Ellis Simms spring to mind), watching on wishing you’d have someone like him on your team. Yes, he’s had horrible luck with injuries, but so had Neal Eardley and look what happened there.
