Charles Vernam – In Talks
Current Club – Bradford City
Position – Winger
Vernon has been offered a deal with Bradford City after eight goals and four assists in 33 games for Bradford City. I’ve been hearing rumours we’ve also been in touch with the player, and if that’s true, he could be a big capture for us. I confess, on the face of things, bagging a player from a League Two club who plays on the wing and has fewer goal involvements than Theo Archibald might seem counterproductive, but there’s a lot to like about Vernam.
The 25-year-old is a former Derby youth who came to prominence at Chorley, on loan from Grimsby. He later had six months with Burton, where I recall him looking lively for them despite us winning 5-1. He’s a tricky player with a bit of pace, and he strikes me as one who could be an asset now he’s played regular senior football at Bradford. Did I mention he was born in Lincoln?
