Ten Free Agents That Could Still Make a League One Move This Season

Scott Sinclair

Well-travelled across the top two tiers and beyond, Scott Sinclair is a wide attacker who has played as a winger for most of his career, with spells as a forward when required. He came through at Bristol Rovers and moved to Chelsea as a teenager, then picked up senior minutes via a run of loans that included Plymouth Argyle, QPR, Charlton Athletic, Crystal Palace, Birmingham City and Wigan Athletic. The big breakthrough came at Swansea City, where he scored regularly across two seasons and helped them win promotion to the Premier League in 2011, form that earned him a move to Manchester City in 2012.

Now 36, Sinclair has since mixed Premier League experience with productive spells elsewhere: Aston Villa, then a strong period at Celtic where he was a key attacking figure across multiple title-winning seasons, before returning to England with Preston North End. He went back to Bristol Rovers in October 2022, later becoming club captain ahead of the 2024–25 season, and he was released at the end of that campaign.
