Michael Appleton’s return to the dugout as Charlton boss split supporters, but it also gave a couple of players a chance to prove a point. Hakeeb Adelakun and Sean Roughan had both been cast into the cold under the former boss, and both started as he brought Charlton to the Bank.

Alfie May gave them an early lead, but under Tom Shaw’s watchful eye, the Imps rallied. Haks scored just past the half-hour mark, sending us in level at the break. He added a second before Sean Roughan rounded off proceedings with the third.

Lasse was your Man of the Match, hitting a whopping 11 shots at goal but not scoring. It was a massive relief to see attacking football at the Bank, albeit for one night only.
