April – Port Vale 3-2 (H) 7.42

Bit of a crazy one here: City’s 3-2 win against Port Vale in April. It was a game that had a bit of everything – red cards (three to be precise), Lincoln taking the lead, going behind and eventually winning the game.

Lasse Sorensen gave us an early lead, before Carl Rushworth hauled down Matty Taylor on the half-hour mark. Chaos ensued, Rushworth was sent off, and Vale levelled. Blackburn-loanee Butterworth then scored for Vale, but in the aftermath of the goal, Tom Conlon was sent off (later rescinded). Six minutes later, in a first half with more incidents than most of the season combined, Ben House scored to make it 2-2.

Surely the second half couldn’t be any crazier? Wrong. Sammy Robinson was sent off for them with ten minutes to go, having only come on at half time, before Adam Jackson grabbed an 87th-minute winner, earning himself Man of the Match from you in the process.
