Between November 19th 2022, and February 3rd 2023, City scored just two goals from open play in the league. Our trip to Accrington was one many saw as a must-win, especially if we were to stave off the lingering threat of a relegation battle. Ethan Erhahon made his debut, and the Imps sought three points.

Ben House gave us a 24th-minute lead, but the game came alive ten minutes into the second half. Sean Roughan, for so long cast aside by Michael Appleton, added a second, before Harry Perritt, on as a sub on 43 minutes, was sent off for them. On 58 minutes, Ted Bishop added a third, sending the travelling fans home happy. Erhahon grabbed Man of the Match, and City would go unbeaten in the next seven fixtures.
