September – West Ham 0-1 (H) 8.43

The best performance of the year was saved for a defeat, as we went down 1-0 to West Ham. Of course, that doesn’t tell the whole story, and for a moment, we had something to hope for. Alex Mitchell had the ball in the net, ruled out for offside, and despite the absence of House and Walker, we occasionally carried a threat.

At the other end, we defended superbly, and only a goal from a set piece, our Achille’s hell, prevented us from taking the game to penalties. It was a proud night for Mark Kennedy and the club, but it came just four games before he was dismissed.
