Steve Mardenborough
UEFA Cup (1999/2000)
Steve Mardenborough made an appearance in the UEFA Cup with Inter Cardiff during the 1999/2000 season, a brief European stint at the end of a nomadic career that had taken him across England and abroad. He faced Polish outfit Ruch Chorzów in what would be one of his final notable competitive outings.
Mardenborough joined Lincoln City for the 1993/94 season, scoring twice. He never really landed at the Bank, nor lived up to his promise after scoring at Anfield for Wolves in the eighties.
Steve Sherwood
UEFA Cup (1983/84)
Like Burridge, Sherwood was a man who had a short stint between the sticks in 1994/95, before moving on to Gateshead. He’d had success earlier in his career – he was Watford’s first-choice goalkeeper during their 1983/84 UEFA Cup campaign.
He featured for Graham Taylor’s outfit in both legs of their second-round clash with Sparta Prague, helping Watford reach the third round before they were eliminated by Sparta’s city rivals, AC Sparta Praha. Originally coming out of Chelsea’s youth side, he was better known for his spell at Grimsby Town.

Brian Gilmour
UEFA Cup (2008/09)
Brian Gilmour joined Lincoln City in November 2009, making 17 appearances and scoring twice during a mixed campaign under Chris Sutton. Initially promising, his form faded late in the season, and after failing to agree terms on a new deal, he departed in July 2010.
Before joining the Imps, Gilmour had played in the UEFA Cup for Finnish side FC Haka, featuring against Brøndby in 2008. Despite showing technical ability and scoring against Bradford and Grimsby, his time at Sincil Bank ultimately lacked consistency. He later enjoyed greater stability with Ayr United after spells in Iceland and across the Scottish leagues.
