8-2 v Rotherham Town, Dec 2nd, 1893

I’d 8-2 be Rotherham Town! I’ve always wanted to say that, but only once have we been able to in Lincoln City’s history. In fairness, we’d drawn 1-1 with them on the opening day of the 1893/94 season, so this was a decent result. It was also an away win, with Rotherham rather amusingly referred to as the ‘homesters’ in the report.

We finished the season eighth in a 15-team division, our second-best finish ever.
