60 Miles In September For CALM – Run Diary September 21st

11th September – Run 9 – 3.31 miles (37.53m to go)

I took two days to recover this weekend, mainly because of the heat, but also to try to get longer runs in this week. I’ve started with a 5k, well off my usual pace, but enough to get my legs moving on a big week. Ideally, I want to have fewer than 25 miles to do come Friday, which means a couple of good runs.

Warm one today

We’ve had a big uplift in the figure raised for CALM, which is brilliant, so thank you to everyone who has supported me so far. I know some of you may not know what CALM do – it’s easy to say we’re ‘raising money for mental health’, but what does that look like in real terms?

If you don’t know, this is what CALM do with your money, lifted directly from their website.

CALM currently spends 80% of its expenditure on delivering our services: that’s answering calls and webchats on our helpline; working with communities across the country; and campaigning for better awareness and understanding of suicide and its devastating impact. Everything else is spent on keeping the charity running and fundraising to ensure we can help the hundreds of thousands of people who need our support every year.

Please, if you can spare a couple of quid, do give generously. It might help to save a life.
