18th September – Run 13/14 – 2.64 miles (23.88m to go)
This is an odd one, I admit. Two runs, one under half a mile, which I said I wouldn’t do. However, I do have a good reason.
Firstly, I did one yesterday at 2.1m. It wasn’t easy, I was a bit hungover, but I wanted to get a couple of miles in. I intended to do three miles today, but fate has conspired against me. I put my trainers on when there was sun in the sky, but got a quarter of a mile up the road, and the heavens opened!
I made an executive decision to come back before I got soaked to the bone and judging by the weather out there right now, I made the right choice!
This is a huge setback. I’m already behind, and if I can’t get two miles in today, I’m going to be in trouble. I can’t do any tomorrow as I’ve got a funeral to go to as well as work and an evening appointment at the opticians. I’m going to be a fair way behind, and time is getting ahead of me.
The 60 miles could be touch and go…..
I’m sure there’s a mental health point in here about remaining positive and taking the setbacks as they come.
