60 Miles In September For CALM – Run Diary September 21st

7th September – Run 7 – 2.00 miles (43.34m to go)

This heat is not my friend! I chose a bad route yesterday as well – around me are all hills, and I’m trying to run on flat ground. I seriously underestimated the hills on this route, so in my desperation to get a couple of miles in, I ended up doing a slow, steady climb which I did not need at all!

This was my fifth run in seven days, my third on consecutive days, so I was a bit disappointed to get on the scales and see I’ve put weight on! I’m not doing this as weight control, I’m doing it for charity and to keep me focused, but it’s easy to let things knock you that are not entirely relevant. That’s probably my message to those of you following this and wanting the ‘wisdom’ as well as the running stuff – it’s easy to get sidetracked and upset by things not going as you planned, even if they’re not part of your plan.

You’ve got to try not to sweat the small stuff!
