Dion Pereira
There’s an MLS connection here too: 20-year-old Pereira has just been released by Atlanta United. He played for their first team 18 times and their ‘B’ team a few times too after leaving Watford for America in January last year.
He was named Watford’s young player of the year in the 2016/17 season and the following season he scored 13 goals in 28 appearances for the club’s youth side. Most recently, he’s been trialling at Doncaster Rovers where he impressed in the ten role; a role likely to be classed as a striker and needed here at Sincil Bank.
It looks as though they’re hoping to secure a deal for him though as Under 23 boss Gary McSheffrey said of the attacker: “In the final third I thought some of his footwork was excellent and the way he brought others into play. His assist for Max’s second goal was lovely and he scored one himself early on. Once he gets match fit I think he could be a real fans’ favourite with that end product and that creativity.”
Maybe we’ve snuck in there after his performance for Doncaster, hence the delay?

Speculate away, Gary. As ever, a read as fascinating as the context is baffling. It feels like David Holdsworth all over again. “He’s got two legs. Sign him.”
Blimey! David Holdsworth. That was desperate patching of holes in a sinking ship by a man of many patches. We are now recruiting for a voyage of discovery. Anyway, nice to hear from you Mike!
Just what was needed. Ta!
It is going to be number 9 on your list Gary!
Bingham is the only one that jumps out at me, either that or the last one. I’m 50/50 ?
The suggestion it may be Jake Wright was soon rejected by the chairman.
