Possible Signing This Week: Who Might Be In The Frame?

Donovan Wilson

The 22-year-old has ‘Michael Appleton’ signing written all over him. He’s a striker, he came from a decent academy and there’s potential for him to turn into a decent player. He’s recently been released by his parent club too, so he’s a free agent but, coming from abroad, a move may not be straightforward.

Remember, this is all speculation and conjecture. He started as a youth at Bristol Rovers, going out on loan to Wolves before making a permanent move. He had loan spells with Port Vale (eight games, one goal), Exeter City (10 games, no goals) and Jumilla in Spain (16 games, six goals). Of his Exeter spell, he said: “They try and pass the ball a lot, which suits my style of play as well, which is good. There are a lot of different styles in League Two, but I like the way Exeter play and it suits me well.” Sound familiar?

He joined Spanish side Burgos in the summer, bagged one in 11 but has had his contract cancelled by mutual consent in the last week.

  1. Speculate away, Gary. As ever, a read as fascinating as the context is baffling. It feels like David Holdsworth all over again. “He’s got two legs. Sign him.”

  2. Blimey! David Holdsworth. That was desperate patching of holes in a sinking ship by a man of many patches. We are now recruiting for a voyage of discovery. Anyway, nice to hear from you Mike!
