How Have Lincoln City Players Got On Since Departing This Summer?

There were a handful of players who left the Imps over the summer, and they’ve had varying degrees of success.

I thought I’d look at those players and see which have been a success, and which have suffered tough times at their current clubs.

Jay Benn – Hartlepool

24-year-old Benn was always on the periphery for us, having signed from Halifax as a player with potential. he couldn’t realise it at City, and while a loan spell at Solihull Moors was productive, he struggled for game time at Bradford City.

This season, he’s in the National League with Hartlepool United, a club going through a bit of turmoil. He’s done well, he’s a permanent fixture for them at full back, operating on the left and right. He’s bagged 2045 minutes in the league, with the Monkey Hangers in ninth.

Zak Bradshaw – Cambridge United

There are only a couple of players from recent times I don’t have an image of, and Bradshaw is one because he didn’t make a senior appearance. Picked up as a player we’d hoped would turn into a left wing back, he didn’t make the grade, and failed to impact Tranmere Rovers during his loan there.

He moved to Cambridge United, and he’s on the fringes. He’s appeared in cup matches, but hasn’t played much in League Two, 148 minutes across two games at left back. He was hooked at half-time as they lost 2-0 at Cambridge and hasn’t featured in the league since.
