How Have Lincoln City Players Got On Since Departing This Summer?

Smith was a low-profile exit this summer. He joined Wimbledon on loan, rather than permanently, because he believed he could have a stab at League One. When they were promoted, he was able to go for free, having been virtually ever-present until Michael Skubala came in.

Wimbledon were early pacesetters, but they’ve tumbled to 17th now. Smith gets lots of game time – 2443 minutes, starting all 25 of their League One fixtures. With one goal and one assist, he has lacked the attacking output of last season (eight goal involvements overall), but he has been a big player for the Wombles.

‘If they keep him fit, he’s going to be huge for them’ – that’s what almost every single Lincoln City fan said, thought or tweeted when Walker moved to Barrow.

Sadly, they have not kept him fit. Walker’s promising career has been devastated by injuries, and he has a single goal to his name, coming in August. He’s started six of their 25 matches, but hasn’t been seen on the field since October 18 when he came off at halftime against Walsall.

They’re 19th in League Two and have changed manager recently, but Walker won’t feature for the new boss anytime soon, as he’s described as a ‘long term’ absentee.
