Nine clubs are lining up a potential move for a former Lincoln City striker after his strong development since leaving Sincil Bank.

The Championship and League One interest reflects how quickly Bailey Cadamarteri’s stock has risen following an impressive spell with the Imps and a growing reputation at senior level.

Nine-club chase gathers pace

Sheffield Wednesday forward Cadamarteri is attracting widespread attention as the January transfer window approaches its closing stages, with no fewer than nine clubs now credited with an interest in his signature.

Reports indicate that Hibernian made an early move for the 20-year-old earlier this month, submitting a bid that was ultimately rejected. Since then, the list of suitors has expanded considerably. Championship sides Millwall, Swansea City, Blackburn Rovers, Charlton Athletic, and Stoke City are all understood to be monitoring the situation, while League One clubs Luton Town, Wycombe Wanderers and Mansfield Town are also said to have him on their radar.

Valuations between £750,000 and £1m have been suggested as a figure that could prompt serious consideration from those overseeing Wednesday’s finances, though any deal would still represent a significant decision for a club already stretched by injuries in attacking areas.

Cadamarteri’s Imps spell

From a Lincoln City perspective, the interest comes as little surprise. Cadamarteri arrived at the Imps on a season-long loan at the end of August 2024, stepping into a forward line that had just lost Joe Taylor following his own prolific loan spell. While the comparison was an inevitable one, Cadamarteri quickly carved out his own identity.

He made his City debut in the 1-0 win away at Stevenage and opened his account the following month against Cambridge United, adapting rapidly to the physical and tactical demands of League One. His movement in the box, willingness to press from the front and instinctive finishing made him a valuable option for City, even as a groin issue limited his availability during the latter part of the campaign.

Despite that disruption, Cadamarteri still finished with eight goals in all competitions, a return that underlined both his natural scoring instincts and his capacity to contribute in a side that often asked him to play with his back to goal. For a young striker operating in a demanding system, it was a productive and educational spell that clearly accelerated his development.

Career trajectory still rising

The striker is the son of former Everton forward Danny Cadamarteri, and had already attracted attention prior to his Lincoln move after breaking through at Sheffield Wednesday under Danny Röhl. That period saw him rewarded with a long-term contract and the EFL Young Player of the Month award in December 2023.

After returning to Hillsborough in the summer of 2025, he was immediately reintegrated into the first team and marked his comeback with a goal in a 2-2 draw at Wrexham. Internationally, having previously represented England at youth level, he committed to Jamaica and scored his first senior international goal in September 2025.
