Blackpool head coach Ian Evatt has confirmed that the EFL Trophy trip to Harrogate Town will provide valuable minutes for several returning players as the Seasiders look to maintain rhythm across both competitions.
Blackpool finished second in Group B and travel to the Exercise Stadium with a mixed squad that is expected to include senior figures and standout youngsters from earlier rounds. The fixture also offers an opportunity for club captain James Husband to make his first start since hamstring surgery, having returned from the bench at Leyton Orient. Evatt believes the game arrives at a useful moment for fringe players and those recovering from injury.
“Hubby is one of the ones that needs to start a game and get minutes, so we will be looking at that game for him. It is an opportunity for players to play and grab a shirt for the league campaign.”
