Johnson was once linked with a move to Imps, is still available.
As a late bloomer who climbed from non-league to the Championship, Johnson could operate at wing back, or as a wide player. He helped Motherwell preserve top-flight status via the 2015 Premiership play-off, reached Wembley with Oxford (and Michael Appleton) and earned a sizeable move to Middlesbrough. He later became a reliable, ever-present wide option for Sheffield Wednesday across promotion and Championship survival seasons.
Steady crossing volume, set-piece utility and endurance have been the hallmarks of his 500-game senior career across all competitions.
