Ten Free Agents that Could (Probably) Do a Job For The Imps

We know Joe well, and he is still a free agent.

Morrell came through at Bristol City and gathered senior minutes with Sutton United and Margate before a breakout season at Cheltenham in League Two. His control of tight spaces and economy in possession drew a season-long move to Sincil Bank, where he became a mainstay in the 2019–20 season. He impressed here, earning Player of the Season and a place in the Wales squad as he stepped onto the international stage.

A transfer to Luton followed, then a switch to Portsmouth, where he was a key organiser in midfield across three seasons and part of the group that delivered promotion in 2023–24. Internationally, he has been trusted for Wales, featuring at the delayed Euro 2020 and the 2022 World Cup.

Injury curtailed his final months at Fratton Park, and he departed in 2024. A recent trial at Plymouth didn’t bring a contract.
