Six Players Who Could Do a Job For The Imps Next Season

Charlie McCann (Forest Green Rovers)

I’ve mentioned McCann in a Football League World piece recently, and I would love to see him at the Bank.

Forest Green Rovers only turned to McCann after missing out on signing Erhahon themselves—an early sign of his comparable quality. While McCann isn’t a traditional holding midfielder, he offers a more all-around profile. Comfortable in possession, he can drive play forward and contribute at both ends of the pitch. That versatility has been on full display this season, with an impressive 16 goal involvements in the National League alone—a standout return for a central midfielder.

Having developed at Manchester United and Rangers before moving to Forest Green, McCann brings top-tier academy experience and a strong pedigree. There would be a fee involved to bring him in, but for a 23-year-old with proven quality and further potential, he represents an exciting investment.
