Another suggestion by a reader, this time Pete Summers, and another I have to agree with. Jamie McDonnell would be an excellent signing for Lincoln City, especially as a potential replacement for Ethan Erhahon. The 21-year-old has been outstanding for Colchester United this season, showcasing his defensive awareness and ball-winning ability. Impressively, McDonnell ranks in the top five Under-23 players in League Two for interceptions, both in total and per 90 minutes, highlighting his reading of the game and ability to disrupt opposition play.
With experience at Nottingham Forestβs academy and U21s, and praise from figures like Danny Cowley, who said he’s Championship-ready now, McDonnell is a high-potential midfielder ready to make an impact at League One level and beyond. He isn’t likely to appear for Forest, so could a deal be done, similar to Jorge Grant, where there is a sell-on?
