A year or so ago, Whitworth would have been top of the list. He’s appeared briefly for Palace in the Premier League; he has England honours up to Under 18 and was their Academy Player of the Year last season. He made the most saves in PL2 last season, and was ninth for prevented goals. On paper, he looks a bit like a Carl Rushworth 2.0, without the senior experience.
However, Wyscout has him at 5ft 10in, so unless they’re wrong, or he’s had a growth spurt, I don’t think he’ll fit our profile. However, I wanted to finish at eight, not seven, so there you go.
