Six City Players Who Could Be Out of Contract: Who Could Be Retained?

With the greatest of respect to the other players, Lasse is probably the player most are concerned about. There have been no questions over his fitness, and since converting to a wing-back he’s been one of our most eye-catching players, someone with a tremendous engine who opposition commentators have been purring about all season. There seems to be a fear he could walk away from the club in the summer for nothing; therefore, we need to tie him to a new deal.

I’m not saying there won’t be a new deal – Lasse signed in the same window as Haks and Ted, so there’s potentially an element of ‘old money’ around the deal. However, he was a young player we signed, and normally, that means an option within the contract to extend beyond the standard eal, which with Lasse was three years. With 123 outings for the Imps in those seasons, he’s underlined his value to the side, and I believe, very firmly, that he won’t be walking away for nothing in July.
