9: Plymouth Argyle 2-1 (A) 7.58

We seem to save good performances for Plymouth – we’ve played them twice this season, and this one stands out as a big away performance. With just two wins in 13 heading into 2022, the Imps started with a bang – two wins and a narrow defeat against Cambridge in a top performance. We went to Argyle hopeful but fell behind in the first half to a Luke Jephcott goal.
City rallied, and new signing John Marquis got us level. We pounded and harrassed, and in the final minute, with his final touch of a football in an Imps shirt, Max Melbourne snatched victory, avenging the 4-3 defeat from the previous season.
