I’ve made a leap here because Tracey is on loan at Shrewsbury at present. That said, Steve Cotterill has been reticent to use him, despite his apparent talent. In recent weeks, he has been given one minute of action on two occasions, as well as being brought on at half time and off before the final whistle as they beat Doncaster Rovers. It isn’t beyond the realms of possibility that Spurs could recall him from his loan spell there.

If they did, I could see him here. He apparently needs to work on some aspects of his game according to Cotterill, which would put him firmly in the crosshairs of a club likely to develop him, such as us. Look how much Jorge Grant has developed during his time him, through coaching and attitude. Clubs see that and know if their player comes here, he will get looked after.

Then there’s the TJ Eyoma link – Spurs will have seen how much football Eyoma has got, how good he has been and maybe want that for another of their players. Why would they not want Tracey with us? Plus, he’s versatile. He normally plays through the middle, but can also operate on either flank and that fits another of our pressing criteria.
