Thanks: Tom Miller

We’ve recently found reason not to thank Carlisle for taking Miller off our hands, so it would be remiss not to mentioned him in a positive light here.
The right back had been with Rangers and Norwich as a youngster, but a devastating injury saw him wind up in the Blue Square Premier with Newport County. They deemed him surplus to requirements and he came across the desk of David Holdsworth, a man never shy at signing a player.
Miller was one of his big hits, making a difference after coming on loan and going on to make 116 appearances for us, delivering his best football once Holdsworth departed.
He was voted Player of the Year for the 2013/14 season and outlasted Gary Simpson too. He earned Chris Moyses six points early into his reign with goals at home against Dartford and Southport to give us back to back 1-0 wins.
It came as no surprise at all when he opted to leave upon completion of his contract, but few could begrudge him a move to Carlisle United.
Still, cheers for that Newport.
