This man was always going to be on the list, wasn’t he? 

Matt Rhead broke our hearts in the FA Cup for the Stags, probably enjoyed our misery as much as his goal and has still gone on to become an Imps’ legend.

He’s written off every year, but bounces back. He’s served the shirt as you or I would, playing like a fan given his chance to shine. What he lacks in pace he makes up for in fight and I cannot remember one single instance where he’s let the side down through a lack of effort.

Matt Rhead will go down in Imps’ history as an all-time great, mentioned in the way as your Dad talks about Percy Freeman right now. He might have slowed down on the goals front, but the Big ‘Un is symbolic of our wonderful run in the last few years.
