No Thanks: Mark Stallard

Before anyone has kittens, Stallard played for Mansfield after he left us. The reason I’m saying ‘No Thanks’ is because he was allowed to leave City for the Stags where he still had plenty of input.
Stallard and Forrester, despite their ages, were one of the best forward combinations we’d seen at Sincil Bank in years. Jamie had guile and craft, Stallard was tough, uncompromising but with ability too. Sure, he faded in the second rather turbulent season, but often he found himself on the bench with the likes of Torpey or Ollie Ryan in his place.
He left City under Peter Jackson (who didn’t) and took up at Field Mill where he managed to net five times in his first eight games, finishing on eight for the season.
Meanwhile, under Jackson, Anthony Elding, David Graham, Kevin Gall, Geoff Horsfield, Andrew Hutchinson, Lennell John-Lewis, Gary King and Ben Wright all managed fewer individually and collectively accrued 11.
And thanks for Sam Ellis – I know, before your time!
