3: Centre back signs on loan
If Montsma does go, that would leave us with three fit centre-backs, Adam Jackson coming back for four, and Josh Honahan pushing five. That does include our full back cover as well, which makes me feel we might be light.
We’re liking the flexibility of 3-4-3, 3-5-2 and the like, but that means we might need another, one that isn’t guaranteed a start, but who can cover injuries and suspensions, and maybe make a name for himself, like Scott Wharton did a few years ago.
I can’t see us recruiting a permanent defender, but if the right profile is available on loan, it wouldn’t surprise me, especially if said player could also play right back. Someone like Raphael Araoye at Bristol City might be the profile of player, or Conrad Hunt at Watford.
