Top 10 Imps – Which Lincoln City Players Are Top Of The League In Their Position?

Reeco Hackett – 8th

There was a feeling Hackett wasn’t at his best this weekend, mainly because inverted wingers tend to cut inside and slow play down, rather than get outside and dink a cross in, but when it comes to lateral attackers (wide attackers), our man is the eighth best in the division.

This typifies the ‘grass is always greener’ belief, that you value what you have less than what others have. Xavier Amaechi and Thierry Gale, two wingers we’ve already marvelled at this season, are below Reeco in the list. In terms of left-sided wide attackers only Bobby Pointon (Bradford City) and David Keillor-Dunn (Barnsley) are better than Reeco.

One stat I really like for Reeco is ‘progressive passes allowed’. Now, that sounds like a lapse in defence, but it isn’t.
Progressive passes allowed” refers to a team’s ability to successfully complete forward passes that advance the ball significantly towards the opponent’s goal, indicating a team’s effectiveness in breaking down defences and generating scoring opportunities. The allowance or “freedom” to make such passes is crucial for effective attacking play and is a key tactical consideration for many teams.

Reeco is second in the division with 92. Rob Street, not ranked to top 22 in overall performance, is third.
