TJ Eyoma
League One: 31 (5) Appearances, 1 Goals
Cups: 11 Appearances, 0 Goals

Before we start, I want you to remember this – TJ Eyoma only turned 21 a couple of months ago and is playing his first season of senior football. His first kick in the professional game came against Crewe on the opening Saturday of the season and he has spent much of the campaign playing at right back, not his usual position. That’s right, he is young, inexperienced and playing out of position, and yet here he is as a possible Player of the Year, and an almost certainty for Young Player of the Year.
What is it about TJ that makes me rate him so highly? His flexibility for a start. I know he has played right back before, but to turn in such composed and confident displays every week is still an achievement. He’s very rarely been anything less than a seven out of ten, whether we play well or not, making him a Sam Habergham figure for the current season. His case has been strengthened these last couple of matches though, playing at left centre back he’s helped us to four clean sheets in five matches. This, after coming in from the cold where he spent a short period as Michael planned for next season. Attitude, ability, flexibility, consistency: the boy has it all.
