Left Wing – Bruno Andrade

I confess to being reticent to put current players in the squad because I feel it is easy to rate those who are currently wearing the shirt favourably, whereas the passing of time can add some perspective. I think a classic example here is someone like Luke Waterfall, clearly rated as a Lincoln legend during his time here, but now he’s gone it is easier to be objective and not blinded by the love of the club.
Bruno, in my opinion, is different. He’s a flying winger of the very highest order and the like of which has rarely been seen during my time as a fan. Is he up there with Sir Gareth? I’m not sure, but he could be. He’s got a bit of everything, goals and assists, flair and skill but also works very hard for the team.
It hasn’t come easily either for the Portuguese wide man. The red card and suspension last season saw his stock take a real dive with the fans, but he came back to great effect and won PFA Player of the Month for his goals, goals which perhaps gave us the little nudge we needed as we lagged after Christmas. This season he started on the bench but has thrived right up until the hamstring injury which has sidelined him.
He’s by far the best winger we’ve had during the last ten years in my eyes and an easy pick on the left.
One player that is always massively over looked is Adrian Pătulea he only scored about 17 goals I think 12 in the league but the manager at the time Peter Jackson normally played him as a sub for 20-30 minutes.
Adrian scored more goals per minute on the pitch than any other player of all time for Lincoln.
But he may not be classed as this decade as it was 2009.
Obviously you would have to include Yeo but not sure if the two would be suited to play together in this formation.
He didn’t play last decade though mate
