Josh Morris
This one is all about location. Josh Morris is a cultured attacking midfielder, not unlike Shay McCartan in his ability to play a role behind a loan striker.
He’s also an incredible talent. He’s been with Scunthorpe United for the last three seasons and has bagged plenty of goals from his deep-lying role. This season he’s not been as effective, but who would be in that shambles of a club this campaign?
I really like Morris and a year ago I would have laughed at anyone even suggesting we’d be in with a chance. He’d been linked with Leeds in the summer, but I get a feeling the last season will make it slightly harder for him to sell his virtues to the bigger clubs.
There’s no doubt this would be a marquee capture, in terms of goals and assists he’d be like Bruno Andrade playing through the centre. It would fit in with the 4-4-1-1 formation Danny likes and at 27-years-old, there’s scope for a cash in if we picked him up free and he started thriving.
I’m really only basing this on Scunthorpe surely not paying wages way in excess of what we can afford, and the fact he’d be able to remain living in the area and simply join a better, more focused club.
