Tommy Rowe
Here’s one I’ve put together for a number of reasons. Firstly, he plays for Doncaster now and let’s face it, we’ve got a way through the door there. Liam knows Doncaster and although he wasn’t on the playing side of things, there’s a link.
Also, Tommy is the brother of Danny Rowe and will have seen first hand what Lincoln City can do for a player. Twice Danny Rowe has been at Ipswich struggling to make an impact and twice he’s come to us and proved his talent.
Okay, in terms of wages this might be a long shot, he’s been fairly regular for Doncaster in the past couple of seasons. If they go up through the play-offs though, will they be making wholesale changes? There might not be a new deal on the table for the left-sided player, although he would seem to be a key player for Rovers.
He’s able to fill in at left back and on the left wing, which is the other stumbling block. Whilst we could do with cover in that area, we don’t need to replace either Harry Toffolo or Bruno Andrade. That’s not to say Danny couldn’t have Rowe playing elsewhere of course, Tom Pett joined as a winger and became a midfielder and Danny Rowe is a wide player who our gaffer made into a central midfielder as well.
