Thanks: Luke Waterfall
You know how many Lincoln City captains have lifted silverware in successive seasons? One.
You know how many centre halves have headed the goal that essentially sent us to a Wembley final? One.
Luke Waterfall, in my mind, is one of the best players we have ever had. Not in terms of skill, he’s a good centre back but we’ve got better now. No, Luke’s attributes were fight, determination, desire and fight. I said fight twice on purpose, because Luke Waterfall was a fighter.
He came to us from Wrexham, but before that Scunthorpe loaned him to Mansfield. they didn’t quite know what they had, barely played him and didn’t sign him up when he was released by the Iron.
Indirectly, that led him to Sincil Bank and to a place in imps’ folklore.
Thank you Mansfield, for not spotting a legend when you have one in on loan.

No Roy Chapman?
