This would be incredibly interesting. The striker had be due to join City right at the start of the Cowley’s reign as managers. but opted instead to join Mansfield Town. That might make other managers think twice, but Danny likes a player with ambition. It’s unlikely he’d hold it against Hoban for wanting to try himself in the Football League. Incidentally, his Mansfield spell was a flop.
He bagged 29 times last season and at 5ft 11in tall is not a target man, rather the player who would slip into the McCartan role. If Shay is recalled by Bradford, is Hoban someone Danny mght fancy as a replacement?
After all, he said he does lots of work before signing a player so he’ll already know Hoban’s strengths inside and out.
