I do hope if Sean reads this he forgives me for not knowing where the accent is on my keyboard that should sit over the ‘A’ in his first name.
When I think of Irish centre backs, I think Gareth McAuley and it could be that Danny wanted to have a look at Hoare, a 6ft central defender, with a view to bolstering our back line.
The 24-year old has played for St Patricks and Dundalk, representing both in European competition. Interestingly, given Danny’s penchant for versatility, he can right back or centre back and had trials with Hull City and Swindon Town, as well as being tracked by Swansea City, Portsmouth, Millwall and MK Dons.
