So, the Imps are in the market for a striker after all.
As it is a surprise with Justin Obikwu being recalled, my guess is we’ll look to sign someone on loan. We don’t need a nine permanently, we have Rob Street and Freddie Draper, but we do need cover there. There is perhaps talk of experience in that role, but it won’t be easy to come by.
I think we’re unlikely to be loaned a player by a rival for promotion, ruling out the top half of this division, and it’s unlikely a player struggling at a poor League One side will be on our radar. I know that is presumptuous, but it feels like we’ll be loaning from the divisions above, as we did with Okoronkwo and Obikwu.
With that in mind, I’ve compiled a list of players I suspect we could be looking at, or would fit the bill for a loan at the Bank.
Remember, this is just for fun, I don’t know if all these players are available. One or two have question marks over their injuries as well, which would rule them out – we’re not going to take a risk in that regard.
