The January window is coming up, and while there is no suggestion we’re going to sign a League Two player, it has been known.
Cohen Bramall came from League Two back in 2021, while we also signed players such as Ben House and Charlie Kendall from the divisions below. We have been known to hunt out players who represent good value, or, like Joe Taylor, players recalled from loans in the fourth tier and repurposed as third-tier players. Joe Taylor, enough said.
With that in mind, this is the first of two articles about League Two players I am prepping. The second will be players on loan in the division who are doing well, and who I wouldn’t mind being recalled and sent to us.
However, the first is nice and simple – five League Two players that I think could do a job for us, should we be interested.
Also, I am not saying we are interested, just so you know.

You might remember N’Mai because his goal put us into extra time in the FA Cup.
His rise at Salford City has been steady since arriving in the academy in August 2020. The Dutch midfielder made his senior breakthrough in August 2021 and earned his first start three months later, signing his initial pro deal that same month. A spell with Warrington Rylands in late 2022 brought regular football and goals, followed by a short loan with Chester in March 2023.
By the start of the 2023–24 season, he had forced his way back into Salford’s plans and signed a new contract in July 2024, continuing his development at League Two level.
He’s not up there in terms of goals and assists, which for a forward player might seem odd in terms of me recommending him, but I love his energy. He wants the ball, he wants to beat players, and he’s a real handful. He has played predominantly down the middle for Salford City, but can also operate at left wing-back and further forward on the left as well.
