The Stacey West Set To Go Full Time

As we enter our ten-year anniversary period, I have a huge announcement to make: The Stacey West is going full-time.

Since we started at the beginning of 2016, the media landscape has changed. The Echo coverage began to fade before disappearing almost completely. Radio Lincolnshire do some great audio content, but written content has been neglected.

We feel there is a void to step into, and with ten years of experience in the field, it’s time for us to see if we can do this full-time.

It’s a massive step, but fan-driven media has become more popular over time, and it feels like 2026 could be the year where it begins to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with some existing news outlets.

The Anfield Wrap, for instance, has been an authority on Liverpool for many years, so why should smaller clubs not also have their fan-driven news outlet?

Adverts

There is a caveat, of course. Recently, we’ve placed adverts on the site, and we’re still in the bedding-in phase with those. I’m working with an excellent provider, Snack Media, with whom I have a long-standing relationship, but we are currently tweaking those to ensure the reader experience is not impacted too much.

Please bear with us while we get the balance between user experience and revenue correct. There is a gap in the Lincoln City market which we have filled for a while, but to do it full-time, we will need to develop this revenue stream.

Patreons

We are also going to rely on our cherished Patreons, who help provide the site with a solid secondary income. I’ve been working with that model for a while, and now subscribers get exclusive content such as the popular dog walk videos, as well as newspaper headlines from that day in history.

This season, we’re covering the whole 1975/76 season as it happened, and that is proving hugely popular. The Discord channel is also really good, with lots of debate and differing views, but always managed in the right way.

I may explore additional content, such as a monthly magazine for the top tier, but that is further down the pipeline. Rest assured, Patreons, you’re right at the top of the site’s thoughts as we enter this exciting new period.

Additional Content

You will have noticed an uptick in the content recently. I’ve been putting more out, and that is set to continue. I plan to include regular League One news updates, daily, to keep you informed on what is happening across the division.

I also plan on expanding local football content, starting with the non-league sides where the Imps have loan players placed: Boston United, Gainsborough Trinity and Lincoln United. All being well, I will expand that to cover other local non-league sides, should the interest be sufficient.

Digital Content

The podcast and video output will continue as normal, but I do plan on more audio content like the recent podcast special I did on Huddersfield Town knocking us out of the cup via the first-ever English football Golden Goal. It has proven to be hugely popular, and more will be coming.

The Future

This is a big step for me and for the site, but it feels like it might be possible. There will be a lot of work to do, and a few bumps along the way, but the media is changing. How we consume news is changing. AI has watered down a lot of football content, and there is so much generic rubbish out there.

We’re here to ensure that you get proper Lincoln City content and analysis, informed news from across the division and, hopefully, to become an essential part of following the Imps, League One, and local football.

Up the Imps

If anyone is interested in working with us on this, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We’re exploring a headline sponsor for the podcast, but also happy to listen to ideas from anyone as to what might work as we stride into the new era for the Stacey West. Email gary@staceywest.net
