Ryan Lowe Quashes Ronan Darcy Recall Talk

Wigan Athletic manager Ryan Lowe has moved to dismiss rumours that Ronan Darcy could be recalled from his loan spell at Chesterfield, insisting there are no plans to cut the agreement short, according to the Derbyshire Times.

The 25-year-old attacking midfielder has been a regular for Chesterfield, making 28 appearances in all competitions and starting each of their last seven matches.

Speculation had suggested Darcy could be brought back to bolster Wigan’s squad, but Lowe played down that possibility, stressing that the club’s January focus is on bringing players in rather than disrupting successful loan moves.

Darcy joined Wigan on a two-and-a-half year deal last January after impressing at Crawley Town, but with the Latics not using a number ten this season, his continued development away from the DW Stadium appears set to continue.
