Gary Croft
Left back Crot enjoyed a career that included spells with both Cardiff and Lincoln, alongside several notable clubs across the Football League. After emerging from the Grimsby Town academy, he established himself with more than 170 league appearances before earning a high-profile move to Blackburn Rovers in 1996, where he played Premier League football. He later joined Ipswich Town, helping them secure promotion and becoming the first Football League player to appear while wearing an electronic tag.
Croft’s connection with Cardiff City began with a loan in 2002, followed by a permanent move. He made 80 league appearances for the Bluebirds over three seasons, although injuries limited his continuity. In 2007, he joined Lincoln, spending one season at Sincil Bank and making 20 league appearances before being released. He later returned briefly to non-league football with Grimsby Borough, bringing his professional career to a close.
