We seem to like players with a unique set of skills and attributes. I’m thinking Justin Obikwu and Jovon Makama, players whose skillset in terms of what they can do might not fit with their physical profiles. You hear it more and more when we sign players, talking about profiles.
Dackers has something similar. He’s 6ft 7in, so could be a target man, but he’s also a neat finisher and a good athlete. He 22 and has really done the rounds, with seven loans during his Salford City stint, and a couple when he was a Brighton player.
I think he’s one that you can’t quite quantify, a bit like Obikwu. You know there is something there outside of the physical, but spotting it and harnessing it might take time. Those with patience could be rewarded in Dacker’s case.
