Plymouth Seek Clarity Over Galloway Release for AFCON

Plymouth Argyle are in talks with the Zimbabwe FA to delay Brendan Galloway’s departure for the Africa Cup of Nations so he can feature against Wycombe Wanderers.

Galloway is expected to be called up for next month’s tournament in Morocco, with the official reporting date set for 8 December. Argyle have a League One fixture the following night, and head coach Tom Cleverley hopes an agreement can be reached that allows the defender to play before travelling. He said:

“We are hoping common sense will prevail and we will have him for that game.”

If released on the original schedule, Galloway will miss four league matches, making Argyle’s left back depth a key concern heading into a busy period.
