Rotherham Captain Praises Dressing Room Shift as Form Improves

Rotherham United skipper Joe Rafferty says belief has returned among the squad as they close in on the top six after a difficult start.

Rafferty revealed that even after their early-season struggles, the group felt capable of pushing up the table. His leadership has been central, with the 32-year-old adjusting to a new role as a right-sided centre half while guiding younger defenders through their first senior minutes.

He told the Advertiser:

“We know we are capable of achieving something. The tables have turned and we are looking forward, not back.”

Manager Matt Hamshaw made 13 summer signings and Rafferty says consistency in message and tactical clarity have underpinned the recent turnaround.
