Argyle Budget Confirmed as Adams Plans January Recruitment
Derek Adams has confirmed that Plymouth Argyle have funds available for January as the club prepares for an important transfer window.
The director of football clarified that the Pilgrims have money left from their top six budget, which means they will not be forced into selling players to add new faces. Adams said loan signings could be the most suitable route, although permanent additions remain possible. Meetings with Tom Cleverley, David Fox and CEO Paul Berne have begun shaping those plans.
“In that budget there is money left over to use in the January transfer window and we will go about trying to take in a number of players to enable us to go forward,” Adams told Plymouth Live.
He added that with two loan spots still available, that avenue is likely to be explored first, depending on the status of the three existing loanees. Adams also addressed speculation linking former striker Ryan Hardie with a return, suggesting wages would be a major obstacle and stressing that any move would depend on player preference and head coach requirements.
