Simon Yeo

Simon Yeo is an Imps’ legend. That’s not up for debate.
However, let’s go back to the 2002/03 season. He’s sent off against Boston in his fourth appearance, and after scoring against Southend in September, he doesn’t get another Football League goal until the final match of the season against Torquay.
In the following campaign, he was sent off on the opening day for kicking a ball in anger and hitting a ball boy, and finished the season on ‘just’ 11 league goals.
The next season sees him leave for New Zealand Knights, with an eight-game goalless run at the end of the campaign, which (along with GTF’s barren spell) contributes to us dropping out of automatic contention.
He returns the following season for six months, is sent off again against Peterborough as he celebrates a goal, and then at the end of the season, moves to Posh.
Imagine the furore if that were now!
