Wilshere targets “third win in a row” as Luton eye FA Cup progress

Jack Wilshere says the mood around Luton is improving and wants that to carry into Friday night’s FA Cup tie with Forest Green Rovers.

The head coach has spoken about creating an environment where players “enjoy it,” and says belief has grown after recent wins over Northampton and Brighton. Wilshere stressed intensity will be key against National League opposition on live television, and warned against giving Forest Green time or space.

He also confirmed that forward Ali Al-Hamadi is close to involvement after training, and said returning players are lifting standards. Long term absentees Jacob Brown and Elijah Adebayo have both been stepping up their work on the grass, something Wilshere says helps the whole group.

“It’s good of course, winning helps that,” he said. “We’re working harder to get better. If we match their energy and then show our quality, that’s how we get through.”
