4. Michael Uwezu – 3 apps, 0 goals
I don’t have a picture of Uwezo in action, and there’s a reason for that – he barely was.
I think rather than him being the problem, he typifies something that always annoyed me. He was borrowed from a big club, replaced players who had a decent (ish) record, and was rubbish. Jamie Clarke (since jailed for horrible crimes) scored in both round of the FA Cup, but didn’t make the bench as Uwezo did in the third round against Bolton.
Was Uwezu that bad? No, probably not, we didn’t see enough. He didn’t stand out, like Adam Watts or Matt Saunders, but he made just three appearances without ever threatening to score or offering much in open play. He was a fine example of a Premier League academy player simply not up to the grade.
3. Kevin Gall – 11 apps, 0 goals

Once a bright spark at Yeovil Town, Gall came to Lincoln in 2008 as part of the Magnificent Seven. The fact that he was poor for us isn’t the only reason he is on here – it was the promise. I’d earmarked Gall as a serious threat at this level, so when he arrived, I bought into the hype. Peter Jackson sold me a dream, and I bought it like a vulnerable pensioner buying cleaning products from a man selling door-to-door.
Sadly, Gall’s promise didn’t wash with me. He looked miles off the pace. He didn’t score, didn’t assist, and looked like a shadow of the player he once was. He was soon off to Port Vale, Darlington, York and Wrexham, all with equal impact. Rats.
